Special Panel Discussion | Ontario Place: Building On Our Legacy

On February 19, 2019 the Toronto Society of Architects, as advocates of the urban environment and in response to the Ontario government’s announcement of a new Expression of Interest seeking development concepts for Ontario Place, hosted a special panel discussion in partnership with the Toronto Branch of the Architectural Conservancy of Ontario. This panel discussion explored the important architecture and landscape design heritage of Ontario Place and how all Ontarians will benefit from building upon the site’s valuable cultural heritage legacy.

Design Charrette: Reimagining Ontario Place

On March 30, 2019 the Toronto Society of Architects held a full day public design charrette on the future of Ontario Place. This charrette was hosted in fulfillment of the TSA’s mandate to promote civic engagement on issues of design and architecture, and invited design professional and members of the public alike to engage in the conversation about the future of Ontario Place.

The ideas and discussions generated by the charrette were documented in a report which was made available to the Government of Ontario and the general public, as well as sent the Toronto and East York Community Council.
