Michael Otchie
Director, Advocacy at BAIDA
Michael Otchie is a Licensed architect in Ontario; registered architect in the U.K; and holds a PhD in Architecture. He has developed a portfolio of construction and research projects for a broad range of clients in England and Ontario. Key projects include the renovation of several high-profile government and cultural significant buildings.
Current interests include strategies for interpreting meanings associated with places, the preservation of affordability and inclusionary approaches to heritage sites. All these themes inform his involvement with BAIDA (Black Architects and Interior Designers) as an organisation that seeks to elevate conversations around making the topic of architecture and successful city-building accessible, engaging, and representative for all.
